Wiener Konzerthaus
Role: Inspizient (Stage Manager)
Years: 2022 to 2024
Location: Vienna, Austria
Coordination of complex productions with leading orchestras, soloists and ensembles. The role combined precise cueing, communication between artistic and technical teams, and responsibility for the real time execution of rehearsals and concerts.
Gesangverein der Steirer in Wien
Role: Chorleiter (choir director)
Years: 2021 to 2023
Location: Vienna, Austria
Chorleiter of the Gesangverein der Steirer in Wien, a long established Styrian choral society in Vienna. The choir is a member of Chorverband Steiermark, Chorforum Wien and the Wiener Volksbildungswerk, which placed it within a wider regional and Viennese choral network.
My responsibilities covered artistic planning, rehearsal leadership, programming and practical organisation. I worked on modernising the choir’s sound and rehearsal culture while maintaining its identity and social function, and left the position by mutual agreement in mid 2023. I handed over the choir to my former assistant in that role.
Philharmonie der Universität Wien
Role: Orchestral librarian, KBB assistant, assistant conductor
Years: 2020-2022
Location: Vienna, Austria
Work for the Philharmonie der Universität Wien included orchestral library management, KBB support, and assistant conducting. This combination of backstage organisation and musical responsibility sharpened my understanding of how repertoire, parts, rehearsal plans and player psychology interact in large ensembles.
These roles were performed for two orchestras and nine choirs. During this time I lead the tenor section of the Philharmonischer Chor. I also had the privilege of teaching a two-module Music Theory course for the new chorister set at the beginning of the semester three times to roughly 120 students across the three semesters I performed this function.
Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México
Role: Assistant of the Executive Director (Claudia Hinojosa)
Year: 2013
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Early work with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, supporting the artistic direction in rehearsal preparation and production logistics. This role provided first hand exposure to a national orchestra’s internal processes and long term repertory planning and resulted in a strong recommendation from the executive director.
The insights provided by being immersed in the remarks of all departments needed to make an orchestra of this level function, and the occasional informal lessons with guest conductors, compressed a lot of insight into the inner workings of a musical institution in a short time window.
